God continues to amaze me by the way he leads this church step by step. Some of the steps are much larger, and much scarier, but the same God that leads us day by day is the same God who is now leading his Bridge Community family into a new facility in 2018. He has provided what we’ve needed every step of the way, and I know he’ll make a way for us in this step too. This step is too big for any of us to do individually. In fact, this is a step that will take all of us who worship together at The Bridge Community (and probably a few friends from afar as well). He is calling us to build the first space for worship ever owned by an evangelical church in Centerville, Utah. That is a HUGE deal. Christ is on the move, and his love for the people in South Davis County is being expressed in a tangible way with this move. He is planting our church firmly in the ground, giving us a permanent home and presence in this community.
This is a defining moment for our church. Of course, this new building is just a tool. Real power comes from the Spirit of Christ as he works in and through his people, but just like the real power in hammering a nail comes from the person holding the hammer, still the hammer is an amazing tool that helps get the job done. This facility will be the place we invite our neighbors to hear God’s word, the place our children (or grandchildren) are baptized, the place small groups are formed, where seekers will find Jesus and be led to follow him fully. This building will enable us to reach more families and host more events that point people to Jesus. I’m excited to see how the extra space and new location will help us expand our reach. The additional space will boost our Summer Kids Outreach (VBS) program to new heights, as well as provide new space for new people. The new location is easily accessible from both the Legacy Highway and I-15 as well as the new West Davis Corridor project which will begin in 2020. This location puts us just a short drive from anywhere in Davis County.
Let’s keep following Christ’s lead, serving by his power to accomplish his mission to seek and save the lost; to help people find him and follow him fully. I invite you to share God’s love with others by contributing to the “Bridge 2.0” project.
